A lone, masked suspect armed with a large knife allegedly made off with some $350 from a Summerville convenience store early Thursday morning.
According to a Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the robbery occurred at about 2:35 a.m. at the A.M. Flag gas station located on Dorchester Road near Black Oak Boulevard in Summerville. According to the report, the clerk on duty said he was stocking the beer cooler when a lone white male subject wearing a ski mask and brandishing a large knife appeared at the door and demanded the clerk open it for him, threatening to kill the clerk if he did not comply.
The clerk said the door to the store was closed but unlocked at the time of the robbery. He said he opened the door and the suspect demanded money, according to the report.
The clerk said he opened the register and the suspect took all the money, some $350, out of the drawer, according to the report.
The suspect then demanded the clerk’s cellphone and again threatened the clerk’s life, telling the clerk he would kill him if the clerk called anyone, according to the report.
The suspect then fled the area on foot, according to the report.
No one was injured during the incident.
Surveillance video was collected and will be reviewed by DCSO investigators, according to the report.
The investigation continues.
