SCSU tuition hike among lowest

Students returning to higher education institutions across the state of South Carolina may see tuition increases averaging more than three percent. At South Carolina State University, the Board of Trustees voted to increase the institution’s tuition by 2.5 percent, which is among the lowest increase in the state.  The tuition increase will be effective fall 2013.
The tuition increase results in an additional $109 for in-state students and $220 for out-of-state students per semester. In addition to the increase, the health service fees will increase by $50 and a new athletic fee of $100 will be assessed.
Given the minimal increase in tuition and fees, SC State maintains its reputation for providing affordable, high-quality education.  “Students are our main priority.  The small increase in tuition is necessary to balance the needs of the institution which directly impact student success,” said President Thomas Elzey.
SC State University is currently accepting applications for the fall semester.  If you are interested in attending or for more information on the university’s tuition, please visit www.scsu.edu.
