Students anticipate the summer fun ahead with trips to the beach, vacations, and—school camps, that is.
This year, Pinewood is the place to be for summer fun. With a group of new camps, the school offers a program for everyone from the athlete or the artist to the performer or the scholar.
Again this summer, Pinewood is hosting it’s Summer Enrichment Program. Beginning the second week of June, the program offers three and a half weeks of exploration into a variety of subjects, from science and computer skills, to math, art, music and even a writing workshop. Though it may be that most students look to the summer as a break from tests and studying, some may be interested in getting a head start on it all. These students can enroll in the SAT Prep class offered to everyone in eighth grade and above.
For the entertainer in the family, a new course has become a part of Pinewood’s Summer Camp program. The Performing Arts Studio of Summerville is introducing it’s first clinic at the school. At Camp Broadway, students will spend a week learning about characteristics of musical theatre that will lead them into a performance of Annie Jr. at the end of the course.
Also a fist for the school is the Sports Camp where elementary and middle school students can acquire and practice the essential skills of basketball, volleyball, tennis and soccer. With drills and games the campers will have an opportunity to apply the techniques that they learn while discovering the fundamental concepts of teambuilding.
Pinewood camps are open to all students ages six to eighteen.
