Jimmie Rogers, Fort Dorchester High School’s athletic trainer, was recently inducted into the South Carolina State University Hall of Fame.
“It was both an honor for him and for our district,” said Pat Raynor, DD2 Public Information Officer. “We have benefited greatly from his gifts and his work with our young people.”
Rogers, who was one of 10 individuals inducted into the South Carolina State University (SCSU) Hall of Fame this year, has been an athletic trainer for 36 years.
“Jimmie is so good at what he does and he’s so well-loved by the students and by the administrators,” said Jospeh Pye, DD2 Superintendent. “We feel that he does what God has called him to do and that he does a great job of it.”
Rogers has received a myriad of awards for his work. Just last year, the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association named him Athletic Trainer of the Year.
The dinner and induction ceremony took place Sept. 5 on the campus of SCSU, where Rogers worked from 1974-1989.
