[Subheading]
Thursday, October 02, 2008

Enjoy a night of entertainment with special guest Kim Delaney of “Army Wives” Friday, Oct. 10 while supporting the Charleston Clemente Course at Trident Technical College, a free college-level humanities course for economically and educationally disadvantaged adults. The Clemente Course Cabaret will be held at 7 p.m. in the Complex for Economic Development/College Center (Bldg. 920) on TTC’s Main Campus, 7000 Rivers Ave., North Charleston. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.
Featured acts include the Plantation Singers, storytellers, piano and vocals, poetry reading, dancers, bluegrass, jazz and blues, and other famous local artists as well as Charleston Clemente Course participants.
TTC’s course is the first Clemente course in South Carolina. The course is offered to disadvantaged adults in the Charleston area who are not currently enrolled in school, in the hope that a study of the humanities can offer a way out of poverty through intellectual freedom.
