Youth Wrestling The Fort Dorchester Youth Wrestling Program is having registration every Wednesday in October from 6-8 p.m. in the foyer at Fort Dorchester High School. Registration fee is $30 and includes AAU membership, team shorts, and a team shirt. This is a recreation level program sponsored by North Charleston Recreation Department in cooperation with FDHS. Practices are held once a week for 1.5 hours at River Oaks Middle School. Matches will be held each Sunday beginning at 2 p.m. at ROMS beginning November 11. ARHS Homecoming Ashley Ridge is celebrating its first Homecoming football game with several planned activities Oct. 24. The Parade of Athletes and Parade of Clubs will be held beginning at 6 p.m. and kick-off is at 7:30 against Bishop England. ARHS students can stay after the game for a Homecoming Dance in the gymnasium. An Oyster Roast for the community will also immediately follow the game. Bethany hoops Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville is having registration for its Community Basketball League, which has a division for children age 5-11 and a division open to all area teenagers. The registration fee is $65 and forms are available at www.bethanygym.com and at the church welcome center. Payment in the form of a check or money order and a copy of the child’s birth certificate must be included. Team drafting will be the last week of October. Dolphin run The seventh annual Newington Elementary School PTA Run with the Dolphins 5k and Mile Fun run is set for Nov. 1. The 5k starts at 8 a.m. at NES.
