Marge Louise Burke died February 9, 2010 in Summerville, SC after a long illness.
She was born December 1, 1929 in Louisville, KY to Adam Dalhover and Mattie Thompson Dalhover.
She is survived by her four loving children: Ronnie Burke of Jeffersonville, IN; Tori Burke-Koskela of Summerville SC; Penny Hansen and Craig of Summerville, SC; Adam Burke and Erin of Atlanta, GA. Her beloved grandchildren: Megan Louise Burke, Bria Burke-Koskela and Miles Sammy Davis Burke Jr. She also is survived by her brother Larry Dalhover of Jeffersonville, IN.
Marge was a maverick – she gave 150 percent to all she endeavored. She studied art, took pilot lessons and modeled in New York. She owned a successful business in Jeffersonville, IN as a single parent and devoted herself to Jeffersonville Swimming as a board member and official. She loved music and the arts and created beautiful flower arrangements and wreaths. In her later years she especially enjoyed “hanging out” at The Dorchester Senior Center. She was known as “Mom” to almost everyone who knew her. She was an amazing woman and will be sorely missed.
Her Memorial is set for March 20, 2010 fro 12 to 5 p.m. at her favorite vacation beach house on Isle of Palms, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dorchester Senior Center, 312 N. Laurel St., Summerville, SC 29484.
