Two Regional Spelling Bee champions from Cathedral Academy traveled to the SCISA State Spelling Bee held Feb. 18 at Williamsburg Academy in Kingstree, S.C. Fourth-grader Matthew Robinson finished seventh in his competition, which was so competitive that seventh-grade words were used to eventually determine a winner. Seventh-grader Jordan McLawhorn finished third in her competition. Jordan earned six points for Cathedral Academy with her third place finish and helped Cathedral Academy finish sixth in the state out of 73 SCISA schools who competed during the regional and state competitions. A special thank you goes out to the two Cathedral Academy spelling bee coaches, Mrs. Tracy Cali and Mrs. Lisa Harrell.
