A sampling of nefarious doings obtained from Goose Creek Police Department and Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office reports:
• A Goose Creek woman reported that someone entered a home out of which she had recently moved, and stole a number of items worth a total of $8,830. The missing items included a three-piece couch set, a pair of women’s shoes, men’s clothing, children’s clothing and a bicycle.
The woman said she had moved out of the residence in December and had left her possessions there to be retrieved later. She had checked on them in January and they were still intact. However, when she went back on Feb. 14, she discovered the garage and kitchen doors to be open and the items gone.
• A business owner in Goose Creek reported that he cashed a payroll check for $326.47 issued from a company by the name of Conyer’s Landscape and Design on a check drawn from Bank of America. A few days later, he received written notification from his bank that the check had been returned indicating the account number on the check did not exist.
The man, however, had made a photocopy of the subject’s South Carolina I.D. card and personal and work telephone numbers. Officers called both numbers with no success; one was not legitimate, the other rang with no answer in person or by voice mail. Internet searches for the business did not yield any results.
The case is under investigation.
• A Goose Creek woman reported that she and a friend were at Northwoods Mall when they met up with another acquaintance, known only as Jimi. The three of them went to a McDonald’s in West Ashley where they met up with a second subject, a friend of Jimi’s named Josh. The woman said the four of them went back to her home to hang out and when it got late, she invited Jimi and Josh to spend the night rather than drive home.
The next morning, the woman awakened to find that her laptop computer and her vehicle were gone. She said she called Jimi on his cell phone and said he told her they were at Food Lion on Redbank Road, but when she went to the store, they were not there.
The case is under investigation.
