John Halajcsik and Arleen Ouellette Halajcsik of Summerville, S.C. celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 7, 2009. They were married 50 years ago on Nov. 7, 1959.
John was born in Linden, N.J. and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years as a Dental technician.
Arleen Ouelette Halajcsik was born in Manchester, N.H. Along with raising their children she worked many years as a bookkeeper for several firms. The couple met in Pinardville, N.J. and had three children. Their children are Cherylann McFadden of Summerville, John Steven Halajcsik and his wife Paula of North Charleston and Bruce John Halajcsik and his wife Teri of Summerville. The couple has four grandchildren, Victoria L. Showman of Atlanta, Bonnie Cassity of Summerville, and Jessie and Danielle Halajcsik of Summerville. They also have one great-grandchild, Gabrielle Cassity.
The couple lived in many places before retiring in Summerville, including Massachusetts, Alabama, and Germany.
The couple will celebrate their Anniversary on a 10 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean.
