John C. Owens Jr (Jack), passed away at his residence on Jan. 8, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends.
Services were held on Jan. 11 at the Holly Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Owens was born on Nov. 4, 1931, in Ridgeville to the late J. Clarence and Margie S. Owens. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a dairy farmer and retired from Westvaco.
Mr. Owens was a member of the Southern Methodist Church in Ridgeville.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Patricia Owens, daughters Kathy (Archie) Campbell, Peggy (Billy) McDaniel, brother Charles (Joyce) Owens, sister Mary (Skip) Hegel, granddaughters Heidi (Jamie) Britton, Devri (John) DeToma, Kristi Campbell and fiance Matt Roldan, step-grandsons Scott (Keisha) McDaniel, Jeff McDaniel, three step-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family offers a special thanks to Mr. Owens’ caretakers: Sandra, Stephanie, Katie and Artie.
