Angie Ringley has been promoted to Head of Middle School at Pinewood. She has taught at Pinewood for nine years in addition to being the Technology Director for seven years.
Ringley has been teaching for 19 years. For the first 10 years of her career Ringley worked in the Berkeley County School district teaching elementary grades. In 2000, she began her Pinewood career teaching kindergarten, and the following year she pursued her true passion and became the computer technology teacher.
Ringley was named Pinewood’s Teacher of the Year in 2005 and was named a SCISA Master Teacher in 2007. Master Teachers are considered to be true standouts in their field. They must have a master’s degree, a minimum of five years in the classroom, proven success in their careers and a true demonstration of sharing and collaborating with colleagues.
Ringley holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clemson University and a Master of Education in Elementary Education with minors in Science and Computer Science from Charleston Southern University.
Pinewood Headmaster Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw noted, “Whether it be inspiring students, mentoring colleagues, planning curriculum or communicating with parents and the community, Angie’s contributions to Pinewood are priceless. We know the Pinewood Middle School will prosper under her leadership.”
Ringley has one daughter who attends Pinewood as a ninth-grader.
