Isabelle and Bill Rooney celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary by hosting a party for family and friends at the Dorchester Shrine Club on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010. A ceremony renewing their vows was conducted by Carey D. Baxley.
Isabelle and Bill were married by the Rev. Dr. Paul Battenhouse on July 30, 1955 at the Congregational Church in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York, where they lived and raised their family.
Their family now consists of their daughter and her husband, Isabel and Gene Frey, grandson AJ and granddaughter Katie Lyn; son Bill, granddaughter Megan and great grandson Wyatt, of Maricopa, Arizona; and son Michael and his wife Penny, granddaughters Mandy and Cindy of Summerville.
Isabell and Bill retired from Northrop Grumman, Bethpage, New York and moved to Summerville in August, 1997.
