BLACKSBURG, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina elementary school is closed for a second day while officials clean mold found in the building.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported Blacksburg Primary School was closed Friday as the cleaning continued.
Cherokee County interim school superintendent Kim Bagwell says the spores were found during routine testing. She says a sample taken from the Blacksburg school Tuesday was outside the normal range and crews were called in to remove the mold.
Bagwell says the school should be ready to reopen Monday.
She says the students were never in danger.
