As the sun sets on this year’s Flowertown Festival, residents and visitors are welcome to head over to The Ponds community off Highway 17 for the “Sunset Serenade” — a free, special performance by The Summerville Community Orchestra. The orchestra, under the director of Alexander Agrest, will perform Hollywood movie music at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at the Ponds’ outdoor amphitheater. Summerville singers Irene Smith and Lydia Smith plan to open the show for the orchestra. Sunset Serenade attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and lawn chairs starting at 6 p.m. to watch the sun set over the Village Pond. Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase. The event is to be held rain on shine. The rain venue will be at YMCA at The Ponds adjacent to amphitheatre. No pets.
