Marie Adeline Thelen, 86, of Ladson, widow of Walter Francis Thelen, Sr. died Monday, August 2, 2010 at Trident Medical Center.  
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 9 o’clock at St. John’s Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to St. John’s Beloved Catholic Church Building Fund, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC  29483.  
Marie was born on June 6, 1924 in Greenville, SC daughter of the late Benjamin Allen Scruggs and Daisy Grice Scruggs.  She was a member of St. John’s Beloved Catholic Church and was very active there.  She was an usher and a Eucharistic Minister in the church.  She enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo and sewing.  She loved being around her grandchildren and her great grandchildren and enjoyed family picnics.  
Surviving are: 3 Daughters:  Marie Frances Barrs, of Bangor, Maine, Paula Ann Griffard (David) of Ridgeville, SC,  and Tina Michael Barthelemy (Larry) of Goose Creek, SC; 2 Sons:  Walter Francis Thelen, Jr. of Summerville, SC and Christopher Michael Thelen of Ladson, SC; 9 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild; 1 Sister:  Micki Collins of Bowie, Maryland.  She is predeceased by:  3 Sisters and 1 Brother.
