Communication Etiquette
First Impression - 38% voice
By Cindy Grosso
In the formulation of a first impression, how much do you think is attributed to your voice?
Studies indicate that 38% of the first impression is attributed to your voice. This includes the tone and quality of your voice. This statistic is of real significance, as the same studies revealed that what you actually have to say accounts for only 7% of that impression.
This exemplifies the saying that “It is not what you say…but how you say it.” How you express yourself will determine very quickly, someone’s perception of you.
Please be reminded, the use of good vocal skills is significant to the positive impression you leave with people.
