Autopsy shows SC teen may have been strangled
Published Monday, November 23, 2009 8:23 AM
WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (AP) — An autopsy shows a teen whose body was found last week may have been strangled.

Multiple media outlets reported that Greenville County sheriff's deputies and police in Williamston continue to investigate the death of 17-year-old A'sha Rucker.

Greenville County deputy coroner Scott Ramsey said Sunday that an autopsy shows Rucker's body showed signs of strangulation. But Ramsey says it could take up to two months to determine the cause of death.

Rucker's body had been found Friday in Greenville County. She had been missing since Wednesday when the junior failed to show up at Palmetto High School.

A family friend thanked the community Sunday for the support during the search for Rucker. Services are planned Tuesday afternoon in Belton.
