Green Party US Senate candidate to open SC office

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A third-party candidate for U.S. Senate in South Carolina is opening his state campaign headquarters in the capital city.

Green Party candidate Tom Clements will talk briefly on Thursday and answer questions as he opens his new office in downtown Columbia near the Statehouse.
Clements is getting some support from Democrats who are leery of voting for their party's candidate Alvin Greene, especially after he was indicted earlier this month on two charges, including a felony count of showing pornography.
The Aiken County Democratic Party website includes a link to Clements' site right below Greene's name on a list of the party's candidates.
Republican U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is seeking a second term.
