SC high school coach charged with lewd act on teen

CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) — A former South Carolina high school coach has been arrested and accused of committing lewd acts on a child.

Multiple media outlets reported that 32-year-old Sean Cassidy also has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Cassidy had been the girls' basketball coach at Camden High School, where he also taught.
Police Chief Joe Floyd says Cassidy used a false picture and description on a Web site, though he did admit his age. Police say Cassidy later revealed himself to the 15-year-old student and allegedly sent her a message asking to meet in his classroom during his free period.
Cassidy is accused of touching the girl inappropriately. The girl is not a member of the basketball team but later confided in another coach.
Cassidy was suspended last week.
