SC women runs over grandchild, killing her

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina woman has run over her 7-year-old granddaughter, killing the girl after she fell in front of the vehicle.

Multiple media outlets reported that 52-year-old Mary Butler was driving on a Greenville street shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday when her granddaughter fell in front of the sports utility vehicle.
Naomi Haile-Hiywot died at Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she died from head injuries.
A neighbor says the girl was running after her grandmother's vehicle when she fell in the road. The Highway Patrol says that Butler was unable to avoid striking the child.
