December 9, 2008; Charleston, SC: On Monday, December 8, Trident Medical Center employees delivered a truck-load of gifts for 11 local families to the Families Helping Families distribution center. For seventeen years, Families Helping Families has provided gifts, clothing, food and other essentials to local families in need during the holiday season.
"We are proud to participate in the Families Helping Families program,Ó said Vicki Ellis, trauma data coordinator for Trident Medical Center. žOur employees at Trident Medical Center are community-oriented and enjoy participating in this project every year. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to provide gifts for 11 families. It is very easy for corporations, churches and individuals to participate ... and it feels great to give back."
Each year Palmetto Project and ABC News 4 team up to ensure the success of Families Helping Families, with the goal of making certain that every family and child in the Lowcountry enjoys the spirit of the holiday season. Last year, they assisted over 800 Lowcountry families in need. Trident Medical Center employees look forward to this every year.
