Mrs. Gene Wallace Dukes Jr.
Kimberly Lynn Horne and Gene Wallace Dukes Jr., both of St. George, South Carolina, were married June 9, 2012 at Knight’s Barn in Summerville. Rev. Charles Jakie Walters officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Samuel Horne III (Joni) of St. George. She was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The groom is the son of Ms. Geraldine Dorman Dukes of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and the late Mr. Gene Wallace Dukes Sr. of St. George. The bride wore an ivory organza ball gown featuring a custom sweetheart neckline embellished with floral detailing that continued down the skirt. The gown, designed by Mori Lee, featured a traditional style bustle and was accented by a single fingertip veil with a ribbon edging. The bride carried a white bouquet of peonies, hydrangeas and roses. The bouquet was wrapped in white ribbon that held a brooch from the bride’s maternal grandmother and the groom’s mother. The bride was attended by her maid of honor Miss Katherine Elaine Horne and her matron of honor Mrs. Brittany Porter Forrester. Her bridesmaids were Miss Caroline Anna Lee, Miss Sarah Brooke Wrenn, Miss Meghan Elizabeth Frierson, Miss Brittany Elise Garlington, Miss Margaret Felder Judy, Miss Lauren Elizabeth Miller, Miss Kayla Starr Simpson and Miss Kendall LeeAnne Smith. The flowergirl was Miss Emalee Mae Goode. Serving as ring bearers were Master Hayden Michael Goode and Master Lathan Casey Hartzog. The groom’s best man was Mr. Wayne Howard Dukes Jr. Groomsmen were Mr. James Samuel Horne IV, Mr. Brandon Gene Johnson, Mr. Stephen Michael Britt, Mr. Samuel Edward Hartzog, Mr. Trent Haskell King, Mr. Elliot Lawrence Mauney, Mr. William Lewis McKinnon Jr., Mr. Patrick Dennis Rhode and Mr. Robert Benjamin Williams. The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Hudson (Elaine) of Walterboro, South Carolina and Mr. William Oliver Clayton Jr. of Dorchester, South Carolina; and Mr. and Mrs. James Samuel Horne, Jr. (Sylvia) of St. George. The groom is the grandson Ms. Ruby Lee J. Dorman and the late Mr. H. Elwood Dorman of Green Sea, South Carolina; and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Dukes (Roberta) of Reevesville, South Carolina. The couple honeymooned at .The Veranda Resort in Turks and Caicos. The will make their home in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
