Former SHS student enters U.S. Naval Academy

Esteban Salazar a member of Summerville High School’s Class of 2012 recently began his Naval Academy career with what is known as Induction Day or “I Day”.  Induction Day begins a six week period during which incoming members of the Naval Academy receive a crash course on all they will need to know to be successful as midshipmen at the academy.  Salazar was the immediate past commanding officer of Summerville High School’s Green Wave Battalion and was one of 1,200 selected for admission to the academy from among 20,600 applicants.
