Maria V. Gibson, MD, PhD

Dr. Maria Gibson is a fourth-generation physician who grew up and started her medical career in Siberia. She first specialized as an OB-GYN, but expanded her scope to family medicine during residency at Duke University. She now serves as medical director for Trident Family Health Center, which provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. She has been honored as one of Best Doctors in America and recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance for treatment of diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Gibson delights in providing patients a medical home. She guides patients in managing chronic problems and mental disorders while also focusing on cancer prevention, women’s health and patient education with a holistic approach. “I partner with my patients not only to treat their illnesses but also manage their health and improve their quality of life,” says Dr. Gibson, a national speaker and author.
