Two familiar faces were easily identified as the administration, faculty, and 265-member student body of Faith Christian School (FCS) returned to campus for the 2012-13 school year. For the first time in the school's 26-year history, FCS welcomed two of their alumni as members of the faculty, as well as members of the coaching staff. Katelyn Dickerson, valedictorian of the Class of 2007 and 2010 graduate of Charleston Southern University, joins the faculty as a middle school Science educator and JV volleyball coach. Currently, Ms. Dickerson is pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching Science Education from Western Governors University, and she will graduate in March 2013. Ms. Dickerson's appreciation and love for children, as well as her appreciation for her "home" resulted in her desire to return to FCS as an educator and coach.
Elizabeth Abbott, salutatorian of the Class of 2007 and 2011 graduate of North Greenville University, joins the faculty as an educator of first-grade students and the varsity volleyball coach. Ms. Abbott attended FCS from K-4 through twelfth grades, and hopes to transfer her love of the school to her elementary students, while equipping them to excel academically and athletically.
Ms. Dickerson and Ms. Abbott bring many years of memories and experiences to the FCS campus. They epitomize the mission of the school, to quality Christ-centered education from K-3 to 12th grade.
