Moncks Corner Medical Center to Host Teddy Bear Clinic
North Charleston, S.C./ October 18, 2012 – Moncks Corner Medical Center (MCMC) will provide “care” to teddy bears and other stuffed animals when it hosts its Teddy Bear Clinic. The event will take place at MCMC, located at 401 N. Live Oak Dr. Hwy 17A, on Saturday, October 27, 9:00 a.m. – noon. The free event is designed to provide youngsters with an educating, entertaining and non-threatening introduction to the hospital experience.
Children can bring their favorite stuffed animal to be seen by a physician while learning about what it’s like to receive treatment in a hospital emergency department. Other learning activities for children include:
• Police and Fire Department
• Tour emergency rescue vehicles such as a fire truck, ambulance & helicopter
• Fire and bike safety
• Rescue demonstrations and more
“This event is a tremendous opportunity for children to feel comfortable in a hospital setting and become educated on all that a hospital offers to the community,” said Ann Edlund, Director of Moncks Corner Medical Center. To reserve your free “Teddy” appointment, call 843-797-FIND (3463).
