McGee, Burgess marry in summer ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Craig E. Burgess


Adriane McGee and Craig Burgess were married June 23, 2012 at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
Rev. Dr. Robert Howell of Bethany United Methodist Church officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. A  reception followed at the Hilton Palmetto Ballroom. A rehearsal dinner was held at the Hilton on the eve of the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of Raymond and Katie McGee of Mauldin South Carolina. She was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore a Mattie Sottero corded lace gown with fitted A-line silhouette. The gown, accented with a Valencia organza band and handmade flowers sprinkled with Swarovski crystals, featured gossamer chiffon floral accents and a corseted back closure.
Serving as maid of honor was Brianna Hamblin who wore a strapless floor length green chiffon dress with flowers at the bodice.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Thomas and Sybil Lewis and the late King A. and Martha McGee.
Serving as maid of honor was Brianna  Hamblin. Hostesses were Lateefah Cusack, Elizabeth McGraw and Katherine Payne. The director was Kim Bolden, and the assistant director was Dana Morgan.
Standing as the groom’s best man was Marcus Burgess. Ushers were the brides’ brothers Raymond McGee ll, Michael McGee and cousins Brandon Hamblin, Frank Williams and Wesley Williams.
The bride is the associate pastor of Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, South Carolina and a major in the Air Force Reserve. She received her BA in Governmental Studies from the University of Virginia, MA in Counseling from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Divinity from Emory University.
The groom is the son of Caretha Burgess of Lake City South Carolina. He is an attorney with the firm Barnwell, Whaley, Patterson, and Helms in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Burgess received his BA degree from The Citadel and his law degree from the University of South Carolina.
Mr. and Mrs. Burgess honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The couple has made their home in Summerville.
