Dr. Ashleigh Zacarias learned early about life and death from her father, a Rock Hill minister who was often called away to help others in crisis. Her own calling led her to study at the Medical University of South Carolina, and now she sees patients at Trident Family Health as she completes her final year of residency. Having learned Spanish, she reaches out to Hispanics as part of Trident Family Health’s Salud project. She also sings at North Palm Community Church, which offers a bilingual service in Spanish and English. In fact, church is how she met her husband, who is originally from Mexico, and this spring, Dr. Zacarias will travel on a medical mission to the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. While home, she volunteers at the Medical Outreach Clinic of Summerville and at Crisis Ministries in Charleston. “For me, it was always important to know what was going on in the community, to be a part it.” - Ashleigh Zacarias, MD Medical School Medical University of South Carolina Residency Trident Family Health/Medical University of South Carolina, third-year resident To schedule an appointment with Trident Family Health, please call 843-572-8277.
