The 10th Annual Parents Leading the Way Conference will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year the conference will be held at Stall High School in North Charleston. Parents Anonymous® of South Carolina is partnering with Children’s Trust of South Carolina, South Carolina Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Charleston County School District’s Department of Federal Programs, and South Carolina School Improvement Council to recognize and encourage parent leadership in the home, the school, and the community.
Executive Director Troy Strother states, “Parents Leading the Way Conference is the culmination of National Parent Leadership Month and is for the benefit of parents and other primary caregivers of children. It assembles speakers that inspire, workshop topics that are relevant and meaningful for all parents, and is a great day for both parent and child.”
Registration is $75 for the day and is open from Jan. 5 through Feb. 20 at www.paofsc.org, it includes a free Children’s Program for children 3 and up who are toilet trained and complimentary light breakfast and lunch. Parents who have children attending Title I schools who would like to attend, but may not be able to afford the registration fee should contact their Parent Liaison/Advocate at your child’s school and ask if funds are available to pay the cost of the conference registration.
