Tyler Palmer takes a jumper for Summerville.

The Summerville boys got out to a fast start Friday and never looked back as they earned a 78-33 win over Berkeley.
“This was just a great team win,” Summerville coach Greg Elliott said. “Everybody played and everybody contributed. In our first three games we really didn’t have any hostility, but I thought we did tonight. I’m pleased with our intensity and we rebounded much better tonight.”
John Jenkins hit a three-pointer with 3:52 remaining in the opening period to give the Green Wave an 11-2 lead. Berkeley gained some momentum at the end of the period, pulling within 11 on a three-pointer by Jaudin Brown at the buzzer.
But Summerville got 3s from Jenkins and Brandon Wilkerson early in the second to pull out to a 15-point lead. The Wave entered the half up 40-17.
Summerville then did a good job of shutting the door, taking a 63-30 lead into the final period.
Summerville’s Tyler Palmer also hit a shot from behind the arc. Berkeley sank six 3s in the game to account for more than half of its points, but Summerville shot 55 percent from the floor.
Wilkerson finished with 16 points to lead all scorers. Both Jenkins and Christian Kalacanic chipped in 15 for Summerville while Timmy Singleton finished with 12.
The Stags were led by D’Andre Richardson, who scored 11 points. Jayden Brown chipped in 10 points for Berkeley.
Summerville improved to 4-0 on the season with the win while Berkeley fell to 0-4.
The Wave traveled to Wando Tuesday after press time for a rematch and will host another rematch with Military Magnet Friday.
