SHS cadet receives prestigious award

Cadet David Dinges was recently awarded the prestigious Navy JROTC Cadet Achievement Ribbon.
The accompanying citation read: “While participating on a ride-along with the Dorchester County Emergency Medical Service, his unit was dispatched to a respiratory difficulty call in which a patient was progressing towards respiratory failure.  Cadet Dinges’ efforts in assisting to revive the patient were invaluable as myriad procedures had to be performed simultaneously. Cadet Dinges showed no hesitation or nervousness; his efforts directly contributed to the patient surviving this respiratory episode.”
The award presentation was part of a larger winter advancement ceremony.
