Patriots pick up region wins

The Fort Dorchester basketball teams swept Beaufort Friday.
The Patriot boys earned a 69-59 win on the road to improve to 11-8 on the season with a 3-3 mark in Region 8-AAAA. Beaufort dropped to 11-6, 2-4.
Ronald Johnson paced the Fort with a game-high 22 points while Eric Hayward added 17 points and Damariez Moorer chipped in 12. Baptiste Staggers, Wayne Chisolm, Thad Middleton and William Munoz also scored for the Patriots.
Kendrick Colvin led Beaufort with 15 points while Anthony White added 14.
The Lady Patriots earned a 44-32 win in Beaufort to improve to 5-11 with a 3-3 mark in region play. The Lady Eagles fell to 1-17, 0-6.
Erika Cobb paced the Fort with 12 points while Briana Chisolm added 10. Territta Jones, London Sharper, Leah Robinson, Shamari Jones and Desiree Evans also scored for the Lady Patriots.
Mattie Hibbs led Beaufort with 14 points.
The Fort teams host Colleton County Friday.
