Crowfield claims top honors at January match

Crowfield tallied 12 points on the Charleston National course Jan. 21 to win the second match of the 2013 Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf Association season.
Pine Forest came in second with 10 points. Trailing were Charleston Municipal (5), Coosaw Creek (-2), Shadowmoss (-3), Rivertowne and Berkeley (-5), Charleston National (-7), Dunes West (-11), Stono Ferry (-15), Legend Oaks (-18), Wescott (-19) and Miler (-27).
Individual honors went to Jeff Hemphill of Coosaw Creek and Chuck Zirkle, who tied for first with rounds of plus 10. Lowell McGauhey and John Grund, both of Pine Forest, tied with Bob Wambolt of Legend Oaks for third. Full results can be found at chsinterclub.org.
Pine Forest leads the season standings with 21.5 points but Shadowmoss is only a half point behind. Trailing the leaders are Rivertowne (19.5), Stono Ferry (19), Coosaw Creek (17), Crowfield (16), Charleston Municipal (15), Dunes West (14.5), Charleston National (14), Berkeley (10.5), Wescott (7.5), Miler (6.5) and Legend Oaks (5).
