You could say it’s in his blood, and especially since Dr. Charles Roberts comes from a distinguished line of heart doctors. His grandfather was the first heart specialist in Georgia. His father, now 80, continues to serve as editor for the American Journal of Cardiology. Like them, Dr. Roberts went to medical school at Emory University and trained at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. Residencies at the Medical University of South Carolina and University of North Carolina followed along with a cardiac surgery fellowship in London. Last year, he left his successful cardiovascular surgery practice in Virginia to return to the Lowcountry after being recruited to join Trident Health’s Heart Team. “I love dealing with cardiac and vascular disease, and making people’s lives better,” says Dr. Roberts, who also has joined Palmetto Cardiovascular & Thoracic Associates. “I love dealing with cardiac and vascular disease, and making people’s lives better.” - Charles Roberts, MD Medical School: Emory University Residencies: Medical University of South Carolina, surgery; University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, cardiothoracic surgery Fellowship: Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK, cardiac surgery To make an appointment with Dr. Roberts, please call 843-553-5616.
