Pinewood Preparatory School announced it will begin offering a half-day pre-kindergarten program for three year-olds with the 2013-14 school year. The program is of one several ways the school is expanding its offerings to meet the needs of area families.
“Many people have expressed interest in a half-day program,” said Head of School Steve Mandell. “We are excited to be able to meet their needs with a high quality curriculum that prepares young minds for success in the classroom.”
The program will run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and will offer an introduction to literacy, math, science, global studies and physical fitness. Participants will also explore the visual arts, performing arts and technology, using Apple iPads.
In addition to the pre-kindergarten program, new offerings at the school next year include Latin studies in the sixth grade, and expanded global studies at all levels.
Enrollment for the 2013-14 school year is now underway. The school will be holding an open house Mar. 5 at 6 p.m. for families that would like to learn more about programs for students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Pinewood Preparatory School is located at 1114 Orangeburg Rd. in Summerville. For information, contact Sarah Ramsey at 843-376-0142 ext. 2023 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
