Donald Deschenes, 77, of Bridgeville, DE (formerly of Summerville, SC) passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3rd after a long illness.  Don was born in Swampscott, MA and was raised in Brooklyn, NY.  Don joined the United States Navy in 1952 and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer in 1972.  He served on various navy ships, aircraft carriers, and nuclear submarines and was very proud of his service to our country.  He received a Bachelor Degree from Baptist College, Charleston, SC and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.  Don worked in education and industry as a Training Director and Safety Director for numerous companies, including Trident Technical College, Charleston, SC, Robert Bosch Corporation, Charleston, SC, and Cummins Engine, Rocky Mount, NC.  Don was an avid golfer, fisherman and a Certified Master Gardener. 
Don is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jeanne, his two sons, Marc Deschenes of Summerville, SC, Donald Deschenes of Depoe Bay, OR, two grandsons, Tyler and Isaac Deschenes, Portland, OR, three step children, Thomas Burlington, Malvern, PA, Jill Burlington, Ithaca, NY, Mark Burlington, Chewelah, WA, and five step-grandchildren, Kyle Burlington, Seattle, WA, Garrett and Chase Venuto, Ithaca, NY, and Bryn and Kitt Burlington, Malvern, PA.
