Midfielder Caitlyn Reilly scored three goals Friday to lead the Lady Patriots’ soccer team to a 7-1 victory over rival Summerville.
“We are playing the ball with our feet; we are moving off the ball; and we are really connecting as a team,” Fort Dorchester coach Taryn Floyd said. “We came out tonight and their head was in it from the very start. They were ready to win it and came out and put it away. We’ve been working on finishing this week because that has been a problem and the hard work at practice carried into the game.”
Midfielder Anna Seder scored two goals for the Patriots while Madison McDowell and Mary Paige each added a goal.
Summerville’s sole score came from Madison Reeves.
The Lady Patriots improved to 5-5 on the season with a 3-2 mark in region play with the win. Summerville dropped to 4-5, 1-3.
Fort Dorchester returns to region action April 9 with a rematch in Beaufort. Summerville returns to action April 9 when it hosts Colleton County.
