Rotary clubs receive awards at conference

Rotary International, District 7770, of Eastern South Carolina, held their annual district conference in Myrtle Beach the weekend of March 22.  Two Rotary Clubs in Summerville received awards and were acknowledged for their achievements and contributions to the community.
The Summerville Evening Rotary Club was awarded Best Club Website and Best Facebook/Social Media.   They were competing in the small club category.  Accepting the awards on behalf of the Summerville Evening Rotary Club were Terry Moore and Wayne Putman.
The Summerville Rotary Club was awarded Best Facebook/Social Media, Best House of Friendship Display, and the Service Above Self Literacy Award for their Dictionary Project.  They were also a finalist for Club of the Year and were competing in the large club category.   Accepting the awards on behalf of the Summerville Rotary Club were Jaime Moore and Frank Osage.
Jaime Moore, President of the Summerville Rotary Club, was recognized and awarded the District Service Award for outstanding service in promoting the Rotary Foundation.
The Summerville Evening Club meets at Montreux Bar & Grill located at 127 West Richard Avenue on Mondays at 5:30 p.m.  The Summerville Rotary Club meets at Holiday Inn Express located at 120 Holiday Drive on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.   The meetings are open to guests.
