Pinewood is pleased to announce four seniors have signed academic college letters of intent: Madison Every-Andrews; Sarah Moderhack; Hannah Hiel; and Ryan Ball.
Since coming to Pinewood in Kindergarten, Madison Every-Andrews has remained a strong student, with over a 4.0 GPA taking Honors and AP level classes. She is a dedicated figure skater who has given thirteen years to her sport, and is an influential role model to many younger skaters. From Blue Crew and Fellowship of Christian Athletes to Student Government and Miss Panther court, Madison has been deeply committed to Pinewood. She has also spent the past three summers working with hearing impaired children at a special summer camp sponsored by MUSC. Madison Every-Andrews will be attending the College of Charleston.
Sarah Moderhack came to Pinewood in her junior year, and has excelled academically with a full roster of AP classes, earning SAT scores over 600 in English and Writing. In addition to her academics, she has been a committed figure skater and volunteer at her church and at the MUSC Children's Hospital. She is active on campus with student government, prom committee and the Chase After a Cure Dodgeball Tournament. She will be attending Sewanee University, with plans to pursue a degree in nursing.
Ryan Ball came to Pinewood in the ninth grade. He has maintained a 3.85 GPA for his senior year, while keeping a very active schedule in drama. He was recently awarded a college scholarship for excellence in make-up design and is active in the Flowertown Theatre and Summerville Youth Dreams Company. Ryan has also been involved in the Pinewood Chorus, served as a Pinewood Teacher Cadet, and worked with middle school drama students. He has done an exceptional job as an instructor in the Pinewood Plus afterschool and Summer Camp programs, and is a dynamic youth leader. Ryan plans to attend Lander University.
Hannah Hiel is an exceptional student in all her classes, taking 10 honors or AP classes, while scoring a 28 on the ACT. She has earned a spot on the Headmaster's List for this year and is active in the Pinewood drama program. She has held lead roles in many Pinewood productions including its recent musical. She has been a decorated swimmer for the Pinewood swim team and is also gifted in working with youth as a volunteer swim instructor. Hannah will be attending Clemson University where she will receive the LIFE Scholarship.
