Police responded to a domestic dispute at Planter’s Retreat Apartments the night of April 17. The victim said she recently ended her relationship and she and her ex-boyfriend were in an argument earlier because he would not accept she is moving on and dating other men. The ex-boyfriend took the victim’s cell phone from her and attempted to break it. He pushed her in the face when she tried to take it back, the victim said. The officer did not see any injuries on the victim. The suspect left. When the victim went back into her apartment she found her bed destroyed. The headboard and footboard were broken from the frame. She also found clothing from the walk-in closet had been placed in the bathtub and bleach was poured on the clothes. A bottle of bleach was on the bathroom countertop. She said the relationship ended a few weeks ago and the suspect does not live at the residence but she believes he made a copy of the key at some point.
Not the only pebble on the bleach
An Orangeburg Road man allowed his son’s girlfriend to stay at their residence because she was dating him. He then told her to move out and left her alone at the residence to give he space to do so. The victim returned on April 12 to find the bedroom she moved out of had been covered with bleach. The carpet, clothes and floor were damaged. The victim said the carpet had just been replaced in that room. The tally of bleached clothes is: 25 pairs of jeans, 21 polo shirts, 10 pairs of shorts and a race car jacket. The victim said the suspect admitted to doing this as revenge for things that occurred recently. The victim also stated he believes the suspect stole his tax documents containing social security numbers. The estimated damage is $1,520.
