The South Carolina Independent School Association has honored two members of the faculty at Pinewood Preparatory School in the association’s Teacher of the Year program.
Larry K. Watt, SCISA executive director, said Rhett J. Frampton, a fourth-grade math and science teacher, was named the SCISA Lower School Teacher of the Year.
She will assume the role of interim head of the lower school at Pinewood in July.
Additionally, Daniel Stone was a finalist in the Upper School Teacher of the Year division.
Frampton, a 28-year teaching veteran, received her bachelor’s degree from The College of Charleston and her master’s degree from The Citadel.
She has been associated with Pinewood in various capacities for 20 years.
Outside the school, Frampton participates in Habitat for Humanity, Chase After the Cure, Foster Children Association, Katie’s Krops, Susan G. Komen, The lamb Institute in Haiti and the Summerville Cotillion.
An active member of St. Paul’s Summerville, Frampton serves on its Prayer Wheel program.
Stone teaches AP government, government and economics, and U.S. history.
“SCISA is fortunate to have excellent teachers, and Rhett and Daniel are two of our outstanding examples,” Watt said.
