An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ashley Ridge High School located at 9800 Delemar Highway, Summerville, concerning the widening of Delemar Highway (SC 165) from near Carolinian Drive to Ashley Ridge High School.
The meeting will have a drop-in format, with displays for viewing. Informal, written and verbal comments will be collected during the meeting. A formal presentation will not be given during this time.
According to Pat Raynor, public information officer for the Dorchester School District Two, the purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback from area residents as well as to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area.
The improvements are proposed to widen SC 165 from two to five lanes. Engineering, Right-of-Way and Environmental project team members will be available to answer questions.
