The four senior members of the 2012-13 Summerville High School boys' basketball team spoke to a select group of sixth-grade students at Gregg Middle School April 24.
Three-time Region AAAA Champions Chris McKinnon, Kelvon Bellinger, Isaiah Kinloch and Brandon Wilkerson spoke to the group in the Media Center. The athletes addressed what the students could expect as they reach high school and shared their personal stories of success, both on and off the court. The players also provided insights into the good habits student-athletes have to have in order to reach their goals, and explained how forming these habits early on helped them to achieve their own academic and athletic goals.
The athletes held a question-and-answer session with the students after speaking to them, and the students were able to talk individually with the players at the conclusion of the presentation.
