Pinewood Back Nine raises $15,000

More than 300 runners registered for the Pinewood Back Nine 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run held at Legend Oaks Golf and Tennis Club April 20.
The event benefited Chase After a Cure, a local nonprofit that raises money for pediatric cancer research at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville. The event raised $15,000.
Participants raced along the Legend Oaks golf course path. The overall winner of the 5K run was Keenan Miller of Summerville with a time of 17:45. The top female finisher was Megan Hritz of Mount Pleasant with a time of 22:39.
