Jerry Back, MD

More than two decades since medical school graduation, Dr. Jerry Back still looks forward to going to work. “Not only do I enjoy the intellectual challenges that go along with practicing medicine, I also find it to be a very spiritual force on my life.” As an internist, Dr. Back treats a range of illnesses in adults. Plus, he specializes in the prevention and treatment of diabetes, cholesterol and hypertension – often interrelated diseases that have had a troubling impact on the nation and especially South Carolina. He takes care to consider each person’s health problems individually, rather than employing a cookie-cutter approach to treatment.

“About 50 percent of the people that I see are referrals from other doctors, that’s really an honor.”
