Homeowner shot during burglary

Summerville Police Department responded to 114A Pintail Drive, near Central Avenue and Parsons Road, in the early morning hours of May 23 for a burglary, according to Capt. Jon Rogers, Summerville Police Department.
At approximately 1:45 a.m., suspect James Lamont Singleton, 18, of Lincolnville forced entry into the residence and during the burglary the homeowner was shot. 
The homeowner was transported to a local hospital and remains there for treatment.
Singleton was arrested near the scene and charged with first-degree burglary, two counts of attempted murder, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
Singleton will receive a bond hearing sometime Thursday. The incident is still under investigation.
