Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities graduate

South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) students from across the state graduated with the Class of 2013 on Friday, May 24, 2013. Graduation events took place on the school campus, as well as the Peace Center in Greenville, SC.
 “Our students work diligently and passionately in their art areas, as well as in their academic endeavors,” says Dr. Bruce Halverson, President of SCGSAH. “Now as graduates, we celebrate their successes and continue to support them in their future studies.”
SCGSAH is known for its arts achievements as well as academic and ranks throughout the nation as a competitive, challenging institution. Newsweek Magazine ranked the school in the top 1% nationally based on academics and has been ranked in the top 3% for three consecutive years. In addition, the school consistently ranks in the top three public high schools in South Carolina for SAT scores and ranks 2nd in percentage proficiency for AP scores.
Among this graduating class, there was a US Presidential Scholar in the Arts, two National Merit Finalists and nearly half of the senior class was named to the National Honor Society.
The class of 109 graduates garnered $26,300,000.00 in scholarship offers from institutions across the country. Below are the graduates by county, along with their plans for Fall 2013.
