Jason Z. Elek, son of E. Deborah Elek of Haverhill and Thomas Elek of Summerville, received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 26, concluding the college's 201st year.
Hamilton awarded 491 diplomas in the ceremony. Thomas Tull, chairman and CEO of Legendary Pictures and a 1992 graduate of Hamilton, delivered the Commencement address.
Elek, who graduated with a degree in English, now joins an alumni body of more than 20,000, many of whom have made important contributions to business, the professions, government and the arts.
Hamilton College is a highly selective residential college offering its 1,800 students a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. Students are challenged to think, write and speak critically, creatively and analytically, so that upon graduation they may distinguish themselves in both their professions and their communities.
