Road Work

It’s time once again to build in extra time for any trip along U.S. 78 between Summerville and St. George. Crews have started work on a project to realign the intersection of U.S. 78 and S.C. 27 near Ridgeville. Another project to improve the intersection of Deming Way and U.S. 78 should begin soon, as should the resurfacing of U.S. 78 from West Richardson Avenue to the U.S. 78/178 split. Donnie Dukes, senior vice president at Davis & Floyd, said those projects should be completed in November. Later phases will add shoulders to U.S. 78, he said. He expects to have a public meeting this summer on the shoulder widening.
